José C. Paz Racing signed a historic double at La Plata and left the title race served
Oscar Sánchez won Clase A, while Bava and Roque Caggiano took Clase B and put Pietranera and Caggiano at the head of the Copa de Oro. The season will be decided in the final double date.
The key moment came early and nobody could take it away. Oscar Sánchez grabbed the lead with his Ford at the Roberto Mouras circuit in La Plata and held on for 14 laps to win Clase A of the ninth Procar 4000 round. A late neutralization because of the collision between Fabián Battilana and Ramiro Apecetche did not change the front-runner's situation: Sánchez restarted and crossed the line first, with Nicolás Biondo second and Emanuel Pérez Bravo third.
The double was no surprise
There was no need for any surprises in Clase B. Carli Bava and Roni Caggiano, in the same Dodge that had already given them two victories this season, controlled the race and finished four seconds ahead of Germán Pietranera and Roque Caggiano. The 1-2 completed a perfect day for José C. Paz Racing, which took victories in both categories and strengthened its case before the championship finale.
- Clase A: Oscar Sánchez, Nicolás Biondo and Emanuel Pérez Bravo completed the podium.
- Clase B: Carli Bava and Roni Caggiano won, ahead of Germán Pietranera and Roque Caggiano.
- The medical service attended Battilana and Apecetche after their collision. Battilana received attention for a blow to one leg.
- Pietranera and Roque Caggiano climbed to the top of the Copa de Oro with 102.5 points, 17.5 ahead of Santiago Pasquale.
The championship picture is now served for the final stretch. Sánchez, Biondo and Pérez Bravo remain the three main candidates in Clase A. In the overall standings, Pietranera and Roque Caggiano lead with comfortable margin, while Pasquale finished third at the La Plata circuit. The two dates on November 27, 28 and 29 will bring together the contenders with everything still in play.
“It was a dominant round for the team, with victories in both classes, but the work is not over. The last double date will decide the titles.”Pablo Carreño, Deportes
My view is simple: José C. Paz Racing arrives with momentum, a winning lineup and a strong hand in both categories. Still, motorsport has a habit of serving up surprises at the last corner. That final weekend should be no exception. Pasquale will have to play without too much room, because this team does not usually give away advantages. See you at the flag, and best of luck to everyone: there is no prize for finishing second.
